Guardian ad Litem Thanksgiving Baskets

Every year in November, First Christian Church takes a moment to reflect on how blessed we are as a congregation. One way we choose to give back to our community is providing the Cape Fear Guardian ad Litem Association with Thanksgiving food baskets for the families they serve. The Guardian ad Litem Program is a statewide program that recruits and trains volunteer advocates, called Guardians ad Litem, to represent and promote the best interests of abused, neglected, and dependent children in North Carolina’s juvenile court system. The 5th Judicial District covers New Hanover and Pender Counties and is funded in part through the NC Administrative Office of the Courts.

We are hoping to provide the Cape Fear Guardian ad Litem Association with 20 baskets. Each basket is unique to the special needs of each family. Smaller families will receive smaller baskets, larger families will receive larger baskets, families with infants and babies will receive baby food, while families without babies will not. Below you will find a list of items that we are in need of. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please contact Ann Boston, Ellie Duckett, or Chris Furr.
